He didn’t care about getting into trouble. That would only make him look cooler to his friends. I thought I was going to throw up from his breath. “Come on, dude, just friggin’ get off me,” I said. ” I said. He and his friends kept laughing. I tried to push him away. Just then, a teacher came running over. We were both sent to the principal’s office and suspended for three days for fighting. When I told my mom, she was furious at my principal. ” she said. ” “I know, Mom, but that’s how the school is,” I told her.

They began putting down anyone different from them, when before they never did that. I love animals, and I don’t like to kill anything, not even bugs. There was this huge grasshopper outside by the school buses one day and I was afraid it would get run over, so I picked it up and put it in the bushes. I did things like that all the time. No one ever made a big deal out of it before. Back in fifth grade, we had a mouse problem at school, and the janitor was going to use mousetraps. I thought that was cruel.

The trainer my parents got me was awesome. He trained a bunch of kids, and twice a week he’d let us work out together. It was fun, and I made friends with the other kids in the group. By the time summer came, I lost almost all the weight I’d gained, and I was hanging out with my new friends from the training group. I could tell my parents were relieved. When it came time for the “big talk,” about where I’d go to eighth grade, I decided to go back to my old school. I was afraid but I didn’t want to run away.
